Twins!

So last night we recieved a phone call letting us know that the goats had a kid! Then this morning we get a phone call to find out that they had TWO kids! They are so cute just learning how to walk.

Mama goat seemed happy, she was friendly and calm, none of them had any problems letting us look at the kids up close. I got a couple pics, I'll get more soon, they were tired it seemed.

I'm so excited to milk mama! We are gonna make soap and cheese! Maybe even ice cream if I ever get my hands on an ice cream machine!

They even sound like babies!

Coming up Wednesday:: Flower Headband tutorial!

Flower Headbands

Annabella is bald, she is starting to grow a little bit of thin hair, but she is still bald. She also wears lots of green, brown and blue. Her car seat and stroller are blue. People often think she is a boy, a beautiful boy, but a boy none the less. I have found myself going along with it when people say "oh he's so cute" I just say thank-you, because I hate talking to strangers

I have seen those flowers that babies wear on their heads, the big obnoxious ones, so I figured "why  not make one?" So I pulled out my scrap yarn from the legacy and heres what we came up with
The first one I made, it fits the best, I made it a good size but it stretches so she'll fit it for a while
This one was the biggest, Ryan picked out the colors, I just safety pin the back of it to make it the size that I want
This one is my favorite, she seems to like it to, it is also a little bit big, I like the flower the best on this one I used really think yarn

I plan to post a tutorial  for these soon

In other news, annabella has a cold, she is keeping her spirits up, but was up coughing last night, clear fluids and no fever, I have been giving her hepar sulf from my  Hyland's Kids' Kit, Anybody who has kids or is around kids I would reccomend this kit, it has gas tablets, teething tablets, cranky tablets, cold tablets, fever tablets, arnica tablets and bruise ointment. I use it almost everyday for annabella when she has a problem it looks like this  Kid's Kit w/ Brochure and we got it down in LA at a health food store, but you can get it on amazon.

As for now annabella is snoring away on the couch and I'm glad she's sleeping, I'm gonna get some chest rub for her at whole foods today, hopefully this will help

It ain't easy being green,...... or is it??

Well I think its pretty darn easy, especially since I found this pattern from craftystylish, its a reversible swiffer sock, and its so easy to crochet! It took me about four hours total but I'm a slow crocheter, it slips over the top of the swiffer but unlike the reusable ones that have to be pushed into the holes on the top, this just stays over top because it is crocheted, and therefore it stretches a little.

This side works great as a dustmop, to get all the dusty stuff off while the other side.....
Is a great wet mop, I made this one out of cotton that I got at the Legacy in Sebastopol, so it cost me about 60 cents to make, not bad, I can just throw it in the wash after I use it and its good as new! Pretty green, and they look way cuter then those ugly swiffer rags.

Here's another one I made out of some acrylic, I got these out of a bag of little yarn balls I got at the legacy, the bag of balls was $1.00,  I can probably make about 6 more out of the bag

I switched colors every two rows for this one

Go ahead, make the pattern! It would be easy to customize it for any of these kinds of mops,

Pants for Oliwesmom

Well the pants I made for the cafemom swap were received! And too big.... but at least they weren't too small, I used this tutorial to draft my pattern for his longies, it was so easy to make a pattern and it only took me about three hours total to make the pattern and the pants! Here is the little cutie rocking them and chilling on his mama's couch

I thought that the monsters looked like they were giving hugs, hence why I chose this pattern for the valentines swap. It was hard to decide what valentine fabric to get for a boy. I got some extra so I can make a few diapers from this fabric as well.

In other news, moving has been going well, I will post pics soon of my new spot, we have finally settled in and I am so happy to be back in Sebastopol, it takes about 20 minutes to walk downtown and Annabella LOVES her stroller, sometimes I feel strange strolling her around with all the babywearers in this town, but I like having her in the stroller, she weighs a lot more then these other babies!

I'll post more soon.

Thanks to Oliewesmom for letting me post this pic of her adorable little boy

Skirties, and a hat from a Hot Vegan Mama

I LOVE  cafe mom they have everything you could possibly need as a mother. Basicly its a site for moms of all shapes sizes and kinds to come together and discuss all things mom.

I am a member of a few groups one of them is the Diaper Sewing Divas. I have seen many swaps go on, but have questioned how good I would be at making a pair of pants or a diaper for somebody that I don't know (I'm still not sure how well I did). This swap was for Valentine's day Longies!

Hot Vegan Mama outdid herself for sure! Not only did Annabella get a pair of fleece longies they had a skirt attached (I'm told these are called skirties) they had a built in soaker which has helped since Annabella has worn them. And she even made an adorable hat to go with it! I love hats with ears!

Annabella really likes this fabric and tries to eat it often!
Needless to say I will be participating in lots more swaps

One banana, two banana

As I was driving home from yoga the other day, I came to a stoplight that I stop at  when I take the main road rather then the back road. And I saw this in the median, at the stoplight
Now in my opinion that is a strange sight, my first thought was monkeys, because who else could have had SO MANY bananas in one stoplight. My second thought was that it might be the same person who eats a banana a day, because they seem to be varying degrees of ripeness.

Either way, I thought it made an interesting picture

Also, tommarrow, we are moving to Sebastopol!! I am so happy to be moving back, I love that town, and I've been to a lot of them, it has the kind of community feel that I like but its the kind of community we can fit into.

Our new apartment is a one bedroom with the kitchen and the living room being one room, its smaller then our three bedroom that we live in now, but it will be much easier to keep my house clean with only 3 rooms to clean. We are renting from an old Mexican lady who lives there with her daughter and granddaughter (who is 2). The lady LOVES Annabelle, shes' already volunteered to babysit!

I will be walking distance from all my favorite places, including the Hopmonk Tavern where we love to listen to music and eat, Whole Foods, Screamin Mimis Ice Cream, Papas and Pollos Burritos (yes potato burritos they are SO YUMMY I'll be sure to add a pic)

Hoping this will get me out of my funk, I just set up my first Hakomi therapy appointment today, I'm pretty excited, its a sort of psychotherapy that is more body mind connecting, it helps you be conscious, and work on how your breathing and tensions can help you feel whats wrong. I'm pretty excited, my acupuncturist told me to try this woman out, and Ruth (my acupuncturist) had nothing but nice things to say about her. I'll be sure to update and let everyone know how it goes

Skype Challenge

Its been days now since I have been able to Skype.

All of my family lives on the East Coast, its sad, but it snows there, and that is nails on a chalkboard to me. Since I have Annabella, and I want them to have a chance to see her grow, we got a webcam and the free program, and now EVERYBODY in the family has it, and we are encouraging Ryan's side to get it as well.

Its kind of like being on the Jetsons

Until a little less than a week ago its been working out great. But then my
Logitech C250 Webcam (Grey)
Logitech C250 Webcam  suddenly quit working. I didn't know what to do! I finally broke down and searched (and I mean SEARCHED) for the webcam video. I found the camera in the computer, by looking in 'devices' and then selected uninstall  the program

Then I plugged it in, and it reinstalled itself, no CD needed.

Now I feel like a Jetson again
